KYLIX – This high-footed cup may be the most beautiful form that Greek potters ever created for drinking purposes. In around the mid-sixth century BCE and later, the kylix was so popular, a number of workshops were established that solely produced this cup. This type of cup, the Vicup, was in existence only briefly – from 475 until 450 BCE. All Vicups found to date are identical in size, suggesting that they may have also been used in public dining facilities. (DB)
