This framed blackened cast-iron relief presents the Last Supper, modelled on the famous mural painting in Milan by Leonardo da Vinci. The relief was based on an engraving by Raphael Morgen (1758–1833) from approximately 1800. Austrian sculptor Leonhard Posch (1750–1831) created a cast-iron relief based on Morgen’s engraving; modeller Dominik Zafouk (1797–1876) executed this relief at the ironworks in Komárov, likely using Posch’s relief as a model. At the bottom of the image is the Latin inscription AMEN DICO VOBIS QUIA UNUS VESTRUM ME TRADITURUS EST (Verily I say unto you, that one of you shall betray Me – Mt 26:21).
